Musical stories

Proyecto Luna is a programme which teams Primary school students with Conservatory and Music school students of all levels. Each academic year an unpublished musical story and score are specifically prepared for this project. The commissions are carried out, preferably, by Andalusian composers and librettists.

This way, primary school students make up the chorus and the orchestra is composed of conservatory and music school students.

During the school months, the participating centres learn the cantata in the class room either as a separate activity or as part of the school curriculum. Every three months, there are group rehearsals. At the end of the school year, the work is premiered in a grand concert on the stage of the Teatro de la Maestranza, brimming with light, creativity and hundreds of young people of all ages coming together to make music.

Part of the educational programme of the Royal Seville Symphony Orchestra and the Teatro de la Maestranza

School performances: 7 May . 6pm and 8.30 pm.
