Young artists reinvent Cinderella
Gallic ingenuity. Italian Bel canto. Plus the original touch and extravagance Pauline Viardot, composer, singer and daughter of tenor Manuel García, who was one of the acclaimed stars of his times. All this comes together for the famous story by Charles Perrault that has been adapted by changing some of the original roles for others which are a parody and most entertaining.
This is how this Cenicienta written by Pauline Viardot (1820-1910) has been described: as a light hearted and amusing chamber opera which rediscovers the magic we all have inside. The Teatro de la Maestranza, in collaboration with three other Spanish theatres, not only brings the music closer to the new generations. With Francisco Soriano as musical director and pianist, our brilliant artists renew La Cenicienta… or Cinderella in English.

Francisco Soriano
Natural de Sevilla, desde 2002 es profesor titular de piano y actualmente catedrático repertorista de canto en el Conservatorio Superior Manuel Castillo de Sevilla. Desarrolla una intensa carrera como acompañante de canto y repertorista, ofreciendo frecuentes recitales y conciertos en importantes auditorios y festivales.

Guillermo Amaya
Nacido en Cádiz, ha participado en numerosos proyectos de teatro, musical y ópera, tanto en España como en diversos países de la Unión Europea y en Perú. Su repertorio como director de escena abarca desde la ópera barroca, repertorio clásico, ópera moderna, opereta y ópera para niños hasta musicales.
