Andalusian Bel canto

For some years now, two Andalusian voices star in Bel canto casts in the important opera houses across the globe. Mariola Cantarero (Granada, 1978) and Ismael Jordi (Jerez de la Frontera, 1973) have charmed audiences with their vocal beauty, impeccable technique and a commanding stage presence that internalizes the characters of Donizetti, Bellini, Mozart or Verdi as their own.

With their meteoric careers based on an innate talent, Mariola Cantarero -who directed her first opera at the end of 2019-, or Ismael Jordi -forged in the shadow of Alfredo Kraus-, perform together once more in a programme of songs by Turina and Barrios and complete the evening with romanzas and duos from zarzuela and opera, in a theatre that recalls the extraordinary experience of their unforgettable Traviata. It was on this stage that they evolved and cemented a future, recognised internationally for their Andalusian Bel canto talent.
