Farewell to the past, on a direct line to the future

Lisette Oropesa bid her farewell to the past and suddenly the splendour of her future was assured. That was in July 2020. She was about to die as Violetta in La traviata but on concluding her heart-rending Addio del pasatto, the audience of the Teatro Real of Madrid on its feet. The first bis of a woman in 13 years. Born in New Orleans in 1983, of Cuban origins and with a Spanish “carta de naturaleza” since 2019, Lisette Oropesa -who studied flute for 12 years- , is one of the great sopranos of today.

Her triumphs at the New York MET or the Scala of Milan affirm the beauty of her voice and the intensity of her performances -above all in the roles of her beloved Mozart, Italian bel canto and French opera- distinguish the soprano as an extraordinary singer. Along with her artistic qualities, Oropesa has a spontaneous and natural charisma, and is a proud vegan and marathon runner. Accompanied by pianist Rubén Fernández Aguirre, the impassioned artistry of Lisette Oropesa in an intimate setting.
