In collaboration with Juventudes Musicales of Sevilla, the Teatro de la Maestranza continues this series in the Sala Manuel García, where young artists are presented who personify a new generation of musicians.

Cellist Rosa G. Varela and pianist Pepe Fernández, play a Romantic programme with pieces by Robert Schumann, Clara Schumann and Johannes Brahms.

 

All the programming in the Sala Manuel García for the 22/23 Season is made possible thanks to the special collaboration of the Fundación Banco Sabadell.

About Rosa G. Varela

Has taken classes with prestigious cellists such as Asier Polo or Viguen Sarkíssov and perfected her studies with Nonna Natsvlishvili, cellist of the Real Orquesta Sinfónica de Sevilla. Has played in the halls of the principal European capitals, with conductors, among others, Vasily Petrenko or Pablo Heras-Casado, and with soloists such as Nicolas Altstaedt or Alban Gerhardt. Was a member of the Youth Orchestra of Andalucía (Orquesta Joven de Andalucía) while studying in Sevilla at the “Manuel Castillo” Conservatorio Superior.

About Pepe Fernández

Studied with pianists Oscar Martín or Patricia Arauzo, performing numerous concerts throughout Spain. Has also collaborated with Juventudes Musicales in concerts across the province of Sevilla. Besides his classical training, he is also developing a name in the areas of flamenco, contemporary music, opera and creative music.
