Suspended in midair by the Orlinski Furor

Magnetic. Enthralling. Powerful. The young Polish countertenor Jakub Józef Orliński (Warsaw, 1990) is not only one of the most acclaimed singers of his generation, whom the critics define as having an extraordinarily beautiful voice and tremendous impact on stage. As well, he is a singer connected to the beat of a young audience who admire him and follow him on social media. Orliński is a passionate B-Boy, in other words, an accredited artist of break dance -to the point that he has been awarded prizes at hip-hop competitions- connected to urban culture. He has starred in fashion adverts and has participated as a dancer, model and acrobat in Nike, Samsung or Levi’s campaigns, among other international corporations.

For his debut in Sevilla, Jakub Józef Orliński is accompanied by Il Giardino d’Amore, the excellent Baroque ensemble renowned for radiant and expressive interpretations, founded in Krakow in 2012 by the Polish violinist Stefan Plewniak; and with whom Orlinski often performs on international tours.

Two of the prominent composers in his important number of recordings, Haendel, -he has recorded Agrippina (2020) and arias from other operas- and Vivaldi, -a recording of a most beautiful Stabat Mater (2022)- are the focus of his recital. Organised in collaboration with the Ancient Music Festival of Sevilla (Festival de Música Antigua de Sevilla) the presence of the festival at the Maestranza grows and this event promises to be one of the outstanding moments of the season.

Baroque music becomes contemporary with the voice and perspective of Jakub Józef Orliński, the scintillating and audacious countertenor of our time.
