From promising young star to maestro

What more can be said about Javier Perianes? The deepening maturity and progress of this Andalusian talent has been a luxury to watch. Step by step, over the course of years on stage at Teatro de la Maestranza, from the moment he emerged as a magnificent “promising young star” until becoming an indisputable maestro of the piano here and beyond.

Javier Perianes (Nerva, Huelva, 1978), whose success both as a soloist and collaborator with the orchestras of Vienna, Cleveland, New York, Berlin or London, conducted by Barenboim, Mehta, Dudamel and Jurowski has earned the title of one of the most internationally prestigious Spanish musicians. This season he returns to the Maestranza to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the birth of the exceptional pianist Alicia de Larrocha (1923).

In a pleat of time, one of the best pianists of the 20th century merges with one of the greatest interpreters of the instrument in the 21st century. Clara Schumann, Robert Schumann, Johannes Brahms and Enrique Granados unites them.
