Entertaining and danceable rhythms

Exhilarating. Popular. Ensembles quite often piloted by women. Swing music took the lead role during the Golden Age of Jazz in North America in the 20s and 30s. A century ago. Yet, its powerful tempos and vocal charm are definitely alive and kicking.

Liberating. Humorous. Retro, of course, but deliciously contagious, vocal jazz swing was a display of three-part vocal harmony. It took the leap to Europe and for the past ten years, a group in Sevilla has brought it back in fashion, maintaining a carefree, cheeky, forthright approach.

O Sister!, a sextet with more than 500 concert performances, looks back to this Golden Age to recreate a show which is both as emancipating as it is genuine, as sentimental as it is amusing.

Boosted by clarinet, trumpet and trombone, O Sister! dares to go down different tracks from vintage swing classic to explore other musical spheres without losing sight of the waters that sway to the enchanting beat took and flow of the Mississippi river in New Orleans.
