Our beloved Ennio

It is quite a sign that the grand composer Ennio Morrione is honoured precisely by the first and only Italian “National Choreographic Centre”, established in Reggio Emilia in 2022. Centro Coreografico Nazionale / Aterballetto was born out of more than 40 years’ experience of the Aterballetto Company, a foundation created in 1977 where artists and choreographers of international fame have collaborated: Johan Inger, Marcos Morau, Ohad Naharin or Diego Tortelli.

With this historical background, the CCN /Aterballetto has incorporated new digital technologies to support and develop a plurality of styles for shows that maintain its personality and, at the same time, take risks and look to the future.

Under the direction of Maurizio Billi, the show leans on the choreography of Marcos Morau, “Chevalier de l’ordre des Arts et des Lettres” by the French Ministry of Culture. Born and raised in Valencia and educated in the United Kingdom, France, Germany and Italy, he is presently director of the troupe La Veronal. His choreographies are inspired by literature, film and photography which interact with and reinforce the music and dance. In 2013, he was awarded the National Dance Prize /Premio Nacional de Danza in Spain.

An evening with Ennio Morricone. A tribute of resounding beauty that will fill us with joy, nostalgia, melancholy and emotion.
