A magical dream of creatures
We know that Claude Debussy and Camille Saint-Saëns adored childhood. One could say that neither of them ever left their infancy behind. The music composed by Debussy for his dear daughter Chouchou and the zoological fantasy, The Carnival of the Animals, by Saint-Saëns (a piece which far from being an embarrassment, was held in high esteem by the composer) shows how close they were to the creativity and imaginative spirit of boys and girls.
Enrique Lanz and the puppets of the company from Granada, Etcétera Teatro, have been telling stories for 45 years. This time they take us into the mind of a sleeping faun who is dreaming of animals from the five continents… animals that fly, live in the water, forest and the farm… or in an orchestra. The creatures the faun imagines slither and slide through a mystifying but fine-tuned concert. They create a carnival in fifteen movements with eleven instruments where words make way for music, the common thread of unexpected events where the only explanation is found in dreams. Humour, poetry, magic and tenderness come together in an ideal show for an audience as of the age of three. Fantasy enveloped in music for those who never renounce the art of dreaming.

About Dreaming the Carnival of Animals
A sensory and poetic journey which takes the audience into a dream of a faun who imagines a fantastic parade of animals from the five continents. With no need for words, it is the music that guides one through a sequence of scenes, full of humour, poetry, and tenderness, where the creatures of the forest, farm, sea or sky come to life, thanks to the expressive nature of puppets.
