Young artists reinvent Cinderella

Gallic ingenuity. Italian Bel canto. Plus the original touch and extravagance Pauline Viardot, composer, singer and daughter of tenor Manuel García, who was one of the acclaimed stars of his times. All this comes together for the famous story by Charles Perrault that has been adapted by changing some of the original roles for others which are a parody and most entertaining.

This is how this Cenicienta written by Pauline Viardot (1820-1910) has been described: as a light hearted and amusing chamber opera which rediscovers the magic we all have inside. The Teatro de la Maestranza, in collaboration with three other Spanish theatres, not only brings the music closer to the new generations, but it also provides the opportunity for young artists to perform via the Ópera Studio Sevilla, with Francisco Soriano as musical director and pianist. Our brilliant artists renew La Cenicienta… or Cinderella in English.
