Passion and Glory: a labyrinth of songs

We would not see the Spain of recent times in the same way without Pedro Almodóvar. It would not sound the same either. The aesthetic of the director from La Mancha region of the country has been powerfully embedded in our collective visualization of stereotypes, along with the soundtrack we share. From the outset, he has shown an exceptional talent in finding the music which best suits his images, a characteristic reserved for only the greatest of cinematographers. In this perfect fusion between what we see and what we hear resides a large part of his impact.

The generous voice of Pasión Vega treats us to an experience of listening to some of the songs which, after travelling the creative path of Pedro Almodóvar’s world, have returned as landmarks in our audio and emotional memory. La bien pagá, Volver, A tu vera, Piensa en mí, Un año de amor, Puro Teatro, En el último trago, Cucurrucucú paloma... songs which have the effect of gentle projectiles on our susceptibilities, accompanied here by the applauded jazz pianist Moisés P. Sánchez.

Pasión Almodóvar bears the signature of Joan Anton Rechi, one of our best stage directors. The Teatro de la Maestranza welcomes a show of a superior artistic stature, attentive to every detail, and one which speaks to various generations.
