Music speaks

The composer Robert Schumann used to say that “music is more than words”. In effect, music speaks for itself. Capable of expressing that which verbal language cannot, it constitutes a tool of communication, an accessible sensorial channel, and a way of effective interaction between emotions and surroundings. Music contributes to comprehensive personal growth and promotes all types of abilities and skills. And what is by no means less important, one also has fun.

The Teatro de la Maestranza repeats another season of its collaboration with the Goñi y Rey Foundation. For more than ten years, Proyecto LUNA (Universal Language for Children as Artists) has made music an ideal vehicle that functions at different levels. The implication of students and teachers at schools, conservatories and music academies guarantees the project’s success, along with the enthusiastic participation of composers and librettists.

Story by story, Proyecto LUNA continues to take music into the classroom and, from there, to the theatre, where all the previous work comes together on the stage. School year to school year, values such as creativity, discipline, social harmony and working in teams brings life to an experience of making music and sharing it: the example of its inexhaustible energy.
