Cita en Maestranza
June, 8 p.m.
- Hall: Main Auditorium
A doubly anticipated date
Eclectic, versatile, daring, brilliant. Pat Metheny (Kansas City, 1954) is a musical virtuoso and polyglot, capable of talking in a multitude of musical languages, one who has played with the greatest, and in every possible register: from Jaco Pastorius to Ornette Coleman, from Sonny Rollins to David Bowie, from Steve Reich to Milton Nascimento.
His discography of recordings is enormous. His career as a child prodigy, meteoric. A determined innovator and investigator, Metheny’s quest made him a pioneer in technology. An enigmatic musician who holds 20 Grammy awards, someone who captivates a wide spectrum of followers, Pat Metheny is the sort of guitarist that always surprises with something new, but at the same time his music is familiar and well known. An artist who never lets the spectator down, an audience that is sure of an exciting, unique experience when hearing him performs.
Committed to the Teatro de la Maestranza, Pat Metheny arrives in Sevilla for a long- desired concert. It will have been worth the wait.
