2006-2007

A programming where the night and its mystery, dreams and the cosmos, are the themes for this season. Once again -and since 1995- graphic designer Manuel Ortiz provides the visual concepts for a season which includes the premiere in Spain of Der Ferne Klang (The Distant Sound) by Franz Schreker.

2005-2006

The objective of the expansion of the theatre which began in 2005 -to equip the Maestranza with a stage for the 21st century- is to attract new audiences along with consolidating the existing ones. Of note is the importance of in- house productions like La sonnambula. .

2004-2005

Without doubt it is the variety of shows that characterizes this season: Madama Butterfly, the Spanish National Ballet, chamber operas such as Opera Minute, or The Little Sweep by Benjamin Britten for students with an in-house production; the zarzuela El asombro de Damasco (The Wonder of Damascus) by Pablo Luna, a series of concerts as a tribute to Manuel García or voices like Miguel Ríos.

2003-2004

Faust with María Bayo, El elixir d’amore with Mariella Devia, Macbeth with Violeta Urmana or a recital by soprano Ainhoa Arteta, these acclaimed female voices are part of the season which includes orchestral concerts by the Royal Seville Symphony Orchestra (ROSS). A combination of shows with a high level of performers.

2002-2003

The exhibition to commemorate its first ten years “El Teatro de la Maestranza, más de diez años”, opens with photographs of its construction, the logo designed by Juan Suárez and a book of autographs. There is also the score of “Las campanillas” by composer Manuel Castillo, which is the music we hear throughout the theatre that announces the beginning of a show or the end of intermission.
